A goodbye and a welcome!

Times change and so do we as people. I found while blogging here at Everything Under the Moon that as much as I enjoyed blogging and writing and sharing and meeting SO MANY wonderful people, I was starting to lose my own voice. This blog had become a little less than what I had originally hoped it to be and it seemed like it was become far less of a representation of me and more of a representation of what people wanted to see. Don’t get me wrong. I loved this blog but some of the regular features became a drag to write. The deadlines and restrictions I boxed myself into were not allowing me to freely express everything that I wanted MY blog to be about …and so I stopped. I stopped writing this blog …but how I’ve missed blogging and how I’ve missed all of you. The comradery , the friendships, and all the fun things I learned!

So it’s official!! I will be blogging again. Unfortunately, it will not be here at Everything Under the Moon. I am officially retiring this blog. BUT! November 23^rd I will be launching a brand spanking new blog …and with the launch of this blog I will be bringing you a weekend of giveaways as a welcome and a thank you to all who transition over with me!!

I want to thank all of you who stuck around and continued to be followers of Everything Under the Moon. I want to thank all of you who participated and made it the success that it was, but it is time to move on to something new and I hope that you all will find in my new blog, a place to come and enjoy in many of the same ways you enjoyed Everything Under the Moon.

As you all can see, I haven't been posting on the blog as of late. I have decided to stop blogging for the summer. I have some projects that I am working on that are taking up a lot of time. Some that I will probably be introducing to you this coming Fall and so I am taking the summer to focus on those things. Therefore I won't be updating Everything Under the Moon this season. Hoping you all will stick with me through this transition and be privy to new exciting things to come!! :)

2012 #FAIL

This blog has been a big #fail in 2012. I have been getting myself involved in all kinds of projects and taking on new endeavors and I havent had a lot of time to make crafts or even really take as many photos as I would love to be taking.

The thing is, I don't want to give up on this blog because I LOVE IT so much!!! ...and I love crafting! ...and of course, now Everything Under the Moon is part of the BlogHer network which I haven't even had the chance to announce to you guys, *smh* So I am going to try to rededicate myself in a minimal way. I am going to try to present a craft every other week. Twice a month ...and on the alternating weeks I will try to do a recipe or something, maybe. I know. That's not much of a promising schedule but it's something to get me back into the groove.

Also, I am going to do my best to organize my emails this weekend so that I can get up on everything with my sponsors. I know you guys have been emailing me and asking about sponsorship and I haven't even updated my sponsor section. #majorfail!!! But that, I will try to get in order this weekend. Of course, our weekly party will continue for all of you guys to share your wonderful projects and I will make an attempt to comment on at least 10-20 of your projects each week because I love seeing them!!

I am soon going to be managing two blogs, a Youtube channel, and multiple other ventures so I am going to do my best to keep Everything Under the Moon a part of the blogging community!!

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me through this transition! I am going to try my very best to continue to provide you with new content on a more regular basis.

I wanted to announce to all my readers who may be interested that I have relaunched my Youtube channel, well actually I have a brand new Youtube channel! Monday was my baby's birthday. She is four! She is so proud to be four. She is amazing.

She spent the day having cupcakes with her school friend's and then having cake and ice cream with friends and family.

Tomorrow is her birthday party and we are super excited!! There will be pics to come. She having a princess tea party and the best part of her party is ...I dont have to do anything!! I just wasn't up for it this year so we are headed to an awesome place that throws great kid's party and for the first time, I get to enjoy it!!

How do I do it?

Recently, I had a loss in my family. My godfather, who is my mother’s cousin that she was close to, passed away. There are so many wonderful memories in my life that he was a part of. My dad passed away when I was six and I remember my godfather coming over on Mother’s Day (after telling my mom to leave the front door unlocked ;)) and cooking breakfast downstairs in the kitchen with me and my little sister. He loved to cook. We made a plate for my mom and placed it on a tray with a vase and a flower. Then he left leaving my sister and I to surprise my mother with breakfast in bed. Once, he even took my little sister to her first father/daughter event so she would have someone to go with since our dad was gone. We spent many a Thanksgiving at his house. He would cook so much food and everyone would bring more and we played late until the night with our cousins and even did karaoke performances. He loved karaoke.

When my daughter was born, he was in love. He just held her and stared at her. Every time he would come to visit (he had moved to Florida), Zee got so excited to see him. She played with him constantly. He even bought her her pretty little Jasmine Halloween costume.

…and now he’s gone, and I don’t know how to tell her. She kind of understands how death works. She knows that my dad was sick a long time ago before she was born and that he was so sick that he died and went to Heaven. She knows that my grandmother died right before she was born and that she went to Heaven too. There have been people who have passed since she was born, even. But not someone that she knew like this. She knew he was sick and she keeps saying to me, “When Uncle Butchie gets better, Im gonna give him a big kiss!” How do I tell her? How do I explain to my baby that Uncle Butchie was sick enough to go to Heaven and that she can’t give him that kiss?

This is one of those Mommy moments you dread. Having to explain the things in life that cause us pain and having to watch your child bear it. I know I have to tell her soon and I know that she may cry so I am preparing myself for her tears.

How do you watch your three year old grieve?

A couple of weeks back I decided that I was going to convert to iPhone. I have been an Android user for about a year now but my phone was constantly giving me problems having to do with memory issues. I had barely dl any apps and I had about 300 photos and the memory was completely full. So, I decided an iPhone would be my best option and a little less than two weeks ago, I converted. The exciting thing about this was I would finally be able to get on Instagram! It was the first app I downloaded and I was super excited about sharing photos and being one of the cool kids, lol ...and then two days later Android got Instagram. LOL! But I think it's pretty cool that Android users now have it because there are that many more people to follow!! So, whether you're a droid or an apple, come follow me on Instagram!!!

Cinderella Blue Party Place Cards

Since I haven't been able to work on anything new to share with you guys lately, I would like to share this project that I had the pleasure of sharing at The CSI Project! So in case you missed it, here goes...

My daughter's birthday is coming up in May and she wants a Cinderella party this year and the party is most likely going to end up being a combination tea party/princess party. So, I came up with these little placecards to help decorate her tea party table.

These are so easy and very inexpensive to make.

All you need is:

Mini Easel Stands
Glitter Paint
$1 Self-Adhesive Tiny Flowers
$1.50 Frames from Michael's
Scrapbook Paper
Mini Wooden Letters

1. I couldn't find the white mini letters at Michael's so I painted my letter white along with the easel stand with some white acrylic paint I had on hand. Once dry, I painted them with glitter paint. I almost bought blue glitter paint but thought that might be too much blue. It's hard to see the glitter in the picture but it shows up in person.

2. I stuck the tiny self-adhesive flowers to the corner of the frame.

3. I cut out the plastic front panel on the frame so I could stick my letter right on the paper and then cut my scrapbook paper to fit and put it inside.

Once my letter was dry, I hot glued it inside the frame, stuck the frame on the easel stand, and that was it!!

I'm going to make one for each child with the first letter of their names on it. This one is for my little ZeeBee who will be turning four :)

I hope you enjoyed this very simple but super sweet tutorial :)

Guys... I have been severely neglecting you. I've been posting the weekly party but that's about it and I am sorry. I have been going through a few changes in my life, picking up a few new projects, and haven't really had the chance to update, add new projects (or even make any), or really participate in blogging in any way. I havent even been able to do my sponsor features for this month or answer any of your emails and I apologize. I am going to do my best to get back to all of you by tomorrow and have new content for you at some point next week.

I hope you will all stick with me as I try to re-organize and get back into everything. I miss you guys!! Talk to you all soon :)
